Everyone should come out and get your geek on this Saturday afternoon at the Tacoma Linux Users Group (aka Taclug). The group is resuming monthly meetings after the usual summer hiatus. The meetings are held the third Saturday of every month at the University of Washington, Tacoma campus.
Taclug meetings follow an unconference format and interested individuals of all skill levels are encouraged to attend. In the past topics have included how to refurbish older computer hardware using Linux, how to build computer controlled RF model cars using Linux, an introduction to Lego MindStorms robotics programming and more. Attendees range from new computer users to seasoned computer scientists.
For specific information regarding meeting times and locations visit the Taclug website.

nice to see taclug is still kicking
I’m glad Taclug is still kicking too.
Thanks to the generosity of the student chapter of the Association of Computing Machinery (ACM) at UW Tacoma we have really great spaces in which to meet. The transition from standard lecture format to unconference format has really improved the quality of the meetings. They are much more participatory now. There is less of a division between presenter and attendee or experienced and new as anyone can contribute.
