Masa Goes the Extra Mile

Masa FoodKendall and I love Masa. The place has really grown on me. I was a regular at Asado at one time and I remember seeing all the preparations (and the false starts) in getting Masa open. When it finally did open I was underwhelmed. My opinion has completely changed.

Kendall is a raw vegan. That means no meat, no dairy, no heat. You read correctly, no heat. Most everything she eats is completely raw. There are a lot of reasons someone might want to eat this way but that isn’t the point. The point is that Masa is a restaurant that will really go the extra mile for the customer.

The guacamole at Masa is absolutely awesome. The only issue was that Kendall doesn’t do chips. No problem we ask for a plate of veggies instead. Ben, at the bar, always talks to the kitchen understands so they understand what we want. I don’t know who generally works the kitchen on Sunday evenings but they are great. The plates that come out are bursting with color and have bell peppers, heirloom tomatoes, jicama, cucumber, and more.

I can’t think of another place we have received this kind of attention to detail. Masa gets a big 10 out of 10 in my book. I recommend sitting in the bar and saying hi to Ben.

That’s so awesome! they should list a choice of veggies or chips because jicama with guac is amazing.
thanks for the review!

It’s nice to see a positive restaurant review. I’ll be sure to check Masa out.
